Join Great Falls Rising’s “Third Thursday Legislative Brown Bag Lunch Bunch” on Thursday, January 16th, at noon at the YWCA, 220 2nd St N. Filing for the November 3rd, 2020, national/state election began on January 9th. Since then, over 20 candidates for statewide and national positions have already filed.
This month the Brown Bag Lunch Bunch will be discussing the effect of “dark money” in our elections made possible by the Supreme Court’s Citizens United ruling. We’ll be looking at national legislation, bills introduced last MT legislative session, and possible bills for the 2021 MT legislative session aimed at trying to limit the effect of dark money on our democracy.
“Dark Money” will also be the topic of GFR’s January 28th gathering when John Adams, an investigative reporter who led the investigation into Montana’s latest example of “Dark Money” in MT’s elections, will be the presenter.
It’s time to get busy! Please join us!
