“Zen and the Art of Lawmaking in Montana” is a course being taught this fall at MSU-Billings (September 5th through December 12th, 2018), but you can follow along with the draft syllabus provided below, which includes links to reading selections. This is a great opportunity to learn how to shape policy, effectively support causes important to you, and prepare to either be a candidate or effectively support a candidate!
The instructor, David Wanzenried, worked for the State of Montana for twelve years, serving as chief of staff to Governor Ted Schwinden and holding two other cabinet-level positions. He later served in the Montana Legislature: Four years in the House of Representatives from Kalispell and fourteen years from Missoula (another six years in the House and eight in the Montana Senate). David earned a B.A. and M.A. in political science from the University of Montana.
