| Talking Points in Support of the Good Medicine Community Great Falls City Commission Public Hearing July 21, 2026 @ 7:00 Great Falls Needs More Housing – Housing is one of the most significant challenges facing our community. – Families, seniors, young professionals, and workers all need safe, quality places to live. – Good Medicine helps address that need while creating a neighborhood that complements the surrounding community. The Tribe Has Committed to Great Falls and It’s Community – Since federal recognition in 2019, the Little Shell Tribe has demonstrated a long-term commitment to Great Falls. – The Tribe has invested in healthcare, housing, community facilities, local businesses, and jobs. – These investments have improved properties, strengthened neighborhoods, and expanded services that benefit the broader community. – Good Medicine is another example of that commitment. This Is Responsible Growth – The Tribe voluntarily chose annexation because it wants this neighborhood to be part of the City. – The development will be built to City standards, served by City utilities, and protected by City police and fire services. – The Tribe will fund the roads, water, sewer, stormwater, and other infrastructure necessary to support the project. – This is responsible growth that shares both the benefits and the responsibilities of being part of Great Falls. Good Neighbors Build Communities Together – Every new development raises questions, and those questions deserve honest answers. Throughout this process, the Tribe has met with City staff, answered questions, revised plans, and participated in public meetings. Good neighbors do not stop talking when challenges arise. They work together to find solutions. That spirit of collaboration should continue as this neighborhood becomes part of our community. This Project Is an Investment in Great Falls – The Good Medicine Community will create construction jobs and support local contractors and suppliers. – New residents will support local businesses, restaurants, healthcare providers, and retailers. – The project expands housing opportunities while strengthening the local economy. – Responsible housing development is one of the best investments a growing community can make. Focus on the Project Before You – The Commission is being asked to evaluate this application based on the City’s adopted standards and the record before you. – Questions about unrelated future projects or hypothetical scenarios should not overshadow the merits of this proposal. – Good governance means evaluating each project on its own facts and applying the City’s standards consistently. A Partnership Worth Celebrating – This project demonstrates what can happen when Tribal and local governments work together. – The Little Shell Tribe has chosen partnership over separation, collaboration over conflict, and investment over inaction. – That deserves recognition and support.
