GFR Gives Thanks to our Schools’ Frontline Workers: Lewis & Clark Elementary School and the Great Falls Career and College Readiness Center

Great Falls Rising is acknowledging groups that are serving our community as “Frontline Workers.” Our first recognition is our Great Falls Public Schools. Our teachers, staff, administrators and all GFPS employees have fulfilled their duties to our children during a very difficult time in their careers. The pandemic has presented challenges far beyond anyone’s imagination, and our educators and front-line support staff have continued to perform their jobs admirably. We will highlight two schools each week.

Jackie Mainwaringprincipal, ( tells us that Lewis and Clark Elementary is a Title I, K-6 elementary school on the east side of Great Falls serving approximately 350 students.  Lewis and Clark Explorers are a community of learners on a journey to success today and into the future.

Tammie Hickeyprincipal, ( states that the Great Falls Career and College Readiness Center is uniquely positioned to help connect an individual’s goals to educational and workforce options. Our staff of 9 serves a diverse population of students from 16-86 and from diploma equivalency preparation to college and industry placements. It is our tremendous joy to see the incredible ways we can individualize student learning and support success.
