In keeping with our purpose, Great Falls Rising is inviting the City and County Commissioners to a panel discussion at our upcoming August 28th gathering for us to learn about local issues and understand how decisions at the state legislature impact local government. We hope to learn how past legislative decisions have affected local governance, what new legislation they plan to seek in the upcoming session, and how local constituents can stay informed on local legislative issues and help influence our legislators to make the right decisions for our communities.
We have invited city and county commissioners to discuss the local issues affecting city and county government as a panel of experts at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at the Episcopal Church of the Incarnation, 600 3rd Avenue North (enter the meeting room space from the alley). There will be a “meet and greet” opportunity from 6:00 to 6:30 for all interested attendees and participants.
We have allotted one hour for the panel who will be free to discuss any issues pertinent to the 2019 Legislative Session. The panel will be moderated, but we envision a free-flowing format with the commissioners leading the dialogue. We will allow questions from you, our legislative candidates, after each of the presented topics. We will reserve questions from the Great Falls Rising members to the conclusion of the panel, as we want to focus the interaction between the commissioners and the legislative candidates.
We hope to see you there!
