Rikki Held is Coming to Great Falls

Rikki Held, of HELD vs. State of Montana (youth climate lawsuit against State of Montana a couple years ago), is coming to Great Falls to meet our community on Thursday, December 4th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at First United Methodist Church, 610 2nd Ave. North.

TIME Magazine’s 100 Next Leaders, Rikki Held, is coming to Great Falls to meet you! Rikki will be engaged in private and public gatherings with organizations and individuals around the State to thank you and learn about your concerns. From the major cattle organizations to environmental groups, she’s meeting with leaders of industry for energy and agriculture, with intense youth engagement, photo shoots and interviews for TV and radio. A filmmaker is traveling with Rikki documenting her life while learning about yours. You can be part of the adventure!

At this moment Rikki Held is literally on the top of Mt Kenya after finishing her time as a Peace Corps volunteer in Africa. The lead plaintiff in HELD v State of Montana, the first successful youth climate lawsuit ever, Rikki grew up on the Powder River as a 5th generation Montanan, ranching in her family tradition. She was Scully’s baby on X-Files, with leading roles from TV series to jewelry ads and the first year of her life was on a soap opera with her twin IVF brother Jaeger. Rikki has been in Teen Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Rolling Stone, and hundreds of publications around the world! She’s been featured on MSNBC & Fox News, the BBC and is an inspiration to millions.

Rikki graduated from Colorado College and expects to continue her doctoral work in environmental studies. One thing has been clear and consistent in Rikki’s approach to her life’s work for future generations, she’s nonpartisan and concerned about every individual, not politics or power, except as it comes in the hands of the people. She lives her values and is looking forward to meeting you where you are.
